Summer Craft Week

with Mary Maguire

Sunday 1st to Saturday 7th August • Adult £315 • Children over 12 £240

Immerse yourself in an inspirational week of craft. We will be making exciting jewellery from beautiful beads, buttons, wire, slate and ribbon; textile bags and creatures using needle felting, and recycled woollen jumpers. We will also be making lanterns from willow and tissue, wire, and recycled tin.

There will be time to enjoy other Lower Shaw activities – bread-baking, local walks, yoga classes, camp-fire evenings, volleyball, and chatting in the sun! It may be possible to attend for part of the week only. Ask us about this.

Mary Maguire, author of numerous craft books, is a maker of beautiful things. She is a gifted and inspiring teacher.

Please note: there will be a charge for materials of about £5 to £10 per day.

Summer Activities Week

15 – 22 August • Adult £246 • Child £156

A week of creativity, relaxation, freedom to play, special time with your children, and time for yourself too!

Mornings are likely to be spent art and crafting it in the big shed, while the afternoons will be filled with games and outings. There will be yoga classes, walks, talks, creative writing, juggling, baking, and jam-making. There are good cycle paths in the area, so there is the option to bring bikes, or borrow one of ours. Join in everything, or pick and choose as you will.

Evenings are likely to find us round the campfire, telling tales or reading a good book together, singing songs, and watching stars. And those are only the official bits! The rest is determined by who comes, who connects, and who makes things happen.

This is a perennially popular high-summer week of high action and laid back inaction. It is geared to the needs of all ages. Children can experience the freedom of the farm, while adults are able to enjoy the companionship of other grownups, as well as having fun and learning new skills alongside their children. Teenagers too can have a very good time!

The week begins after 5pm on Sunday 15th, and ends after breakfast on Sunday 22nd.

Juggling and Circus Skills

with Jim Semlyen, Jacob Hirsch-Holland, and friends

27 - 30 August • Adult £156, Child (9-18yrs) £126

A long Bank Holiday weekend of developing juggling skills and fun! There will be structured sessions in juggling, club passing, pole spinning, poi, acrobalance, human pyramids, diabolo, devil stick, ring and plate spinning, and clowning! And new for this year we have a rig for aerial work – trapeze and silks!

As darkness descends, we shall explore the magic of black light in a fluorescent room with props that glow in the dark! And you can join in or just watch a large-scale fire extravaganza with the ceremonial lighting of fire sculptures. There will be a final-night cabaret, a black light performance, and ‘warehouse’ party to write home about!

All levels of ability welcome, children too, but please check arrangements with us before booking.
