As we join hands in a circle to dance, we connect and experience community. Circle Dance both creates and expresses the mood of people together.

The dances will be varied. There will be simple earthy village dances from Greece or Eastern Europe; celebratory choreographed modern ones; or profoundly spiritual dances to Celtic or classical music.

Wherever the dance is from, it is what it brings to the circle ‘in the moment’ that brings the joy, energy, connection, release, peace, and healing. And the music, which comes from all over the world, is fantastic!

Over the weekend, we'll have an underlying theme of dances to express the seven chakras, or energy centres in the body. The dances will be suitable for beginners and experienced dancers alike. Having a feeling for movement is a help, and yes, there are steps to learn, but we’ll do so step by step, and will repeat certain dances over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon will be free time, to relax, walk or have a sauna.

Dee and Nawal are international circle dance teachers. Their style is clear, inclusive, profound, and playful.

Yoga and Running

If you like to run a little or a lot; and if you want to become or stay supple and strong in body and mind through yoga, then this is a weekend for you!

As well as planned runs, there will be a chance to have your running technique filmed and analysed; be 'screened' to assess areas of strength, weakness, and/or tightness in your running body; plus , strength and conditioning instructions and routines.

The yoga sessions will be runner-focused, stretching those areas that runners need to stretch most.

There will of course be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout the weekend, about running schedules, training techniques, injuries, nutrition, and yoga.

And to keep our energy, there will be healthy meals; the sauna will be in action; and there may be an individual massage service too!

Claire is an experienced Sports Therapist and Personal Trainer, as well as a GB age group Duathlete. She is passionate about making your running as efficient as possible to minimise the risk of injury and potentially, to make you faster!

As for Matt, he simply likes running, the thoughts and feelings that come when the body is in motion, and especially parkrun, which, he thinks, ticks all key boxes, for health, harmony, and happiness.

Iyengar Yoga Weekend

Iyengar Yoga will be taught in a way that is suited to those who already have some experience of yoga.

Dave’s aim is to challenge students to make progress on their poses and come out of their comfort zone, but the general atmosphere is light hearted and fun! When a student goes up into headstand for the first time we all share in their sense of achievement and joy. He recognises that everyone develops at their own pace and aims to teach with compassion and empathy.

On Saturday there will be an early morning Pranayama (breath control) class, then following breakfast, after an optional short local walk, a two hour asana (postures) class. After lunch the options are to relax at the farm, use the rustic sauna, or go on a led walk in the local countryside. In the late afternoon there will a restorative asana session, including inverted poses.

In the evening there will be a chance to use the sauna, or time to relax, perhaps around a campfire. On Sunday morning, the programme will be the same as Saturday’s. Departures during the afternoon, from about 2.30pm.

Group size: up to about 12.

Price includes accommodation, meals and tuition.
