July 2012
Music Weekend – with voices, instruments, and music lovers!
- Date:
- 6 – 8 July
- Price:
- £141 • teens and under £75
- Led by…
- Surya Cooper, Andrew Walpole, Linda Lee, and Sarah Joy.
This is an opportunity to play, learn, listen, sing, and be creative with music.
It will be a weekend of full–on musical action and workshops for singers, musicians, and songwriters, and for everyone who is or aspires to be any of these.
Come and share favourite tunes and songs, learn new ones, and be inspired to write your own, with plenty of support and guidance. Develop your guitar and instrumental style, and polish your techniques. Experience singing in a scratch choir and learn about vocalising and improvising; and take a chance to put together fine words and a mean tune.
And then there’s the fabulous Cowshed Cabaret Finale!
The weekend will be led by a quartet of experienced musicians: guitarist and teacher Andrew Walpole; guitarist and voice coach Surya Cooper, who uses yoga and voice–work to develop singing voices, and improvisation, percussion, and harmonies, drawing on music from many eras and cultures; singer, choir leader, instrumentalist, and natural voice practitioner Linda Lee; and songwriter, singer, and guitarist Sarah Joy.
At this weekend, which begins with supper on Friday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon, all lovers of music, whatever their expertise or experience, are welcome. Come, and have fun, with music!
