A rejuvenating weekend and a chance to unwind.

Yoga works not only on the body but also calms and sharpens the mind and leads to all-round alertness.

Iyengar Yoga will be taught in a way that is suited to beginners and more experienced practitioners. The classes will focus on postures to improve flexibility, strength, and balance.

The weekend will also include sessions on giving and receiving a relaxing and toning massage, covering different areas of the body.

On Saturday there will be an early morning Pranayama (breath control) class, then following breakfast, a two hour asana (postures) class, and a massage class. After lunch the options are to relax at the farm, use the rustic sauna, or go on a led walk in the local countryside. In the late afternoon there is a choice between a restorative asana session, and a massage class.

In the evening there will be either a guided meditation, foot baths, or time to relax around the wood burning stove. On Sunday morning, the programme will be the same as Saturday’s, with a late lunch. Departures during the afternoon, from about 3pm.

Group size: up to about 20.

Note: This course, with similar ingredients, will be repeated 8-11th June (Thu-Sun), 25–28th August (A long weekend), and 13-15th October. There is also a Yoga and Running course on 21–23rd July.

Yoga and Running

If you like to run a little or a lot, or would like to start doing either; and if you want to become or stay supple and strong in body and mind through yoga; and if you’d like to do both with like-minded people and have good food, good talk, maybe even a sauna and massage too, then this is a weekend for you!

The main focus of the weekend is in the title: yoga & running! We’ll talk about both, get guidance on both, and, of course, do plenty of both.

On Friday evening, we’ll meet, eat, greet, and talk about running and yoga.

On Saturday morning, there’ll be a choice of runs to suit either newcomers to running and/or more experienced runners.

In the afternoon, there’ll be specific yoga classes that stretch and relax the bits that runners most need to stretch and loosen.

Of course, there will be fabulous healthy meals; the sauna will be in action; and there may be an individual massage service too!

Throughout the weekend, more running and yoga will be possible; and there will be talks and sessions to cover running techniques, reasons for change or for carrying on as you are, and strength work and why this is important.

There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and get answers, both about running and yoga, from Claire, who is an experience Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, and a GB Duathlete (see Claire on Facebook). As for Matt, he simply likes running, the thoughts and feelings that come when the body is in motion, and especially parkrun, which, he thinks, ticks all the key health boxes.

Note: We also have Yoga and Massage courses on 7-9th April, 8-11th June (Thu-Sun), 25–28th August (A long weekend), and 13-15th October.
